Church Point, LA:         A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 21, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Catherine Anne Simon, 62, the former Catherine Anne Matte. Ms. Simon, a native of Church Point and resident of Rayne, LA, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 15 at her residence. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the service and disposition will determined by the family.

She is survived by her father, Pierre "Peter" Matte of Branch, LA, a daughter, Summer Richard of Lafayette, LA; a brother, Keith Matte and wife Mendy of Branch; a sister, Davina "Tut" Boudreaux and fiancé John Desormeaux of Abbeville, LA; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne and Shayley Bree Richard; her Godchildren,: Taysha Benoit, Mary Kristen Matte and Shanna Gaultier; her nieces and nephews; April, Olivia, Kristen, Adriana, D.J. and Katelyn and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Ian, Sophie, Breyden, Gracie and Leonce. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Carriere Matte; a brother, Don Matte and her grandparents, Leonce and Ernestine Carriere and Leonce and Eldine Matte

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 12:30 Friday by Deacon Winn. A hard-working and loving mother and grandmother, Ms. Simon will be truly missed by her extended family and friends. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
