Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Carol John Richard, 84. Mr. Richard, a native and resident of Church Point, died Tuesday morning, December 23 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the Services. A Rosary will be recited at 1:15 PM by Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, who will conduct the Services. Entombment will immediately follow in the OLSH Mausoleum adjacent to the Church.

Carol John Richard passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply. He is survived by his spouse, Ida Gayle Richard; his children, Tara Richard Hinson and Phylis Richard; his sons-in-law, Keith Hinson and Chris Keller; his grandchildren, Kyle Wimberley, Jordyn Wimberley Bordelon, and Liliana Hinson; his great-grandchildren, Jacques Bordelon and Jennings Bordelon; his siblings, Rodney Richard and Norma Johnson and his sister-in-law, Madeline Richard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Theresa LeJeune Richard and his siblings, Robert Richard and Mary Lou Bihm.

Carol found joy in the simple things — quiet mornings outdoors, long days spent hunting or fishing, and sitting down for a good breakfast at Sunny's. These moments, shared with family and friends, were where he felt most at peace. He will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle spirit, and the love he had for his family. His life was one of devotion, strength, and quiet kindness. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the stories told, the traditions shared, and the generations that follow.
