Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Carol Joseph Lyons, 80. Mr. Lyons, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 8:25 A.M. Sunday, April 15 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche (Bernard) Lyons of Church Point; three sons, Charles Lyons and wife Elaine, Keith Lyons and wife Stacey and Karl Gene Lyons-all of Church Point; a daughter, Jennifer Carrier and husband Brian of Church Point; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ella (Jagneaux) Lyons; a son, John Malcolm "Mack" Lyons; an infant grandson, Joseph Lyons and a daughter-in-law, Debra (Lanclos) Lyons.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

An avid guitar and accordion player for many years, Mr. Lyons loved "Cajun" French music.
