Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 N. Bienvenu St., Church Point, LA for Carla Turner, 61, the former Carla Fontenot. Mrs. Turner, a native of Church Point and resident of Slidell, LA, died Wednesday night, May 23 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Carla, born February 2, 1957, the daughter of Frances Mcbride Fontenot and the late Rufus J. Fontenot, Sr., graduated from Church Point High School in 1975 and graduated from The University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1979. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 yrs., whom she married October 6, 1984, John William Turner and her sons, Benjamin Ross Turner and Christopher Ian Turner of Denver Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters, Mona F. Blakeway (William E.), Tina F. Broussard (Matthew); her brothers, Reggie J. Fontenot, Rufus J. Fontenot and Richard M. Fontenot (Violeta); her nieces, Andrea Blakeway Imms, Lezia Broussard Boudreaux and Lauren Broussard; her Mother-In-Law, Edith Cooper Turner, her Sister-In-Law, Jennifer Turner and her niece and nephew, Terri Turner and Alex Turner, all of Tunbridge Wells, England. She was preceded in death by her late Father-In-Law, Ernest George Turner. As Carla often ended her daily prayers, "Let us Pray for Peace of Heart, Mind and Soul", family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point from 9AM to 3 PM , with rosary at 11 AM . A reception will follow entombment.
