Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for John Brent Guidry, 68. Mr. Guidry, a native and resident of Church Point, LA, died Wednesday evening, May 1 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Michael Vidrine, Parochial Vicar of the Church, will conduct the Service with Entombment immediately following in the OLSH Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Daigle Guidry of Church Point; his mother, Roberta Carrier Laughlin of Church Point; his daughter, Brooke Harper and spouse Ryan of Carencro, LA; his sons, Beau Guidry and companion Macey Smith of Farmerville, LA and Ben Guidry and spouse Amy of Church Point and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ignace Guidry; his brother, Michael Guidry; his grandfather, Luke Carrier; his uncle, Russell Carrier and his stepfather, Jake "JL" Laughlin.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Sunday until time of Service. A Rosary will be recited there at 11:00 AM Sunday by a family member. Pallbearers will be Beau and Ben Guidry, Ryan and Reece Harper and Ronald, Terry, Ricky and Richard Daigle.

A diesel mechanic for a number of years; Mr. Guidry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
