Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Guidry Funeral Home; Church Point, La. for Brady Guidry, 26, who died at 1:05 P.M. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center; Lafayette, La. He was a resident of Breaux Bridge, La. Father Blair Lope Sabaricos will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Michael and Charlene Pepper Guidry of Breaux Bridge, La.; his maternal grandmother, Ella Mae Daigle of Church Point; his paternal grandparents, Orvy and Gloria Guidry of Breaux Bridge; and three stepsisters: Heather Breaux and fiance Trey LeBlanc of Lafayette and Halynn and Hannah Breaux of Breaux Bridge, La.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Daigle Guidry; his maternal grandfather, Harris Daigle and his maternal step grandparents, Purgy and Theresa Pepper. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 23 and continue on Sunday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. by Deacon Jim Cormier.
David and Trey LeBlanc, Michael Thibodeaux, Richard Jones, Bruce Dajgle, and Carroll Pepper will serve as pallbearers and Dillon LeBlanc, his Godchild, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
A 2000 graduate of Breaux Bridge High School, Mr. Guidry was currently a sophomore at ULL and employed at the Hockey Plex, where he operated the "Zamboni" and taught Youth Hockey. "Zambrady", supported by family and friends, battled ALS for five years. Courageous to the end, he chose not to artificially extend his life.
