Church Point, LA:            Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Bobby L. Matte, 79, the former Bobby Leger. Mrs. Matte, a native of Crowley, LA and resident of Scott, LA, died Friday afternoon, April 26 at Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings, LA. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her son, Donnie Matte and wife Liz of Lake Charles, LA; her "best friend", Mike Halpin of Scott; her grandchildren, Rob and Amanda Matte, Tonya Cloteau, Tamie Scheller and Brett Chaisson; nine great-grandchildren: Coben and Jolie Claire Matte, McKinley Touchet, Kayli, Casin, Tanner and Taiga Gallet and Drake and Alix Cloteau and her great-great-grandchild, Brinley LaPoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Edna Simar Leger; her husband, Herbert Matte and two sons, Kevin and Wayne Matte. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 6:00 P.M. Saturday by Deacon Bryne Winn. Pallbearers will be Roger and Josh Clavier, Blaine and Rob Matte, Mike Halpin and Mike Alleman with Tyler Clavier and Michael Richard as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Matte was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 225 of Church Point for a number of years. Truly loved, she will be missed by her extended family, friends and fellow "Legionnaires".
