Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Betty W. Doucet, 80, the former Betty Ann Wilks. Mrs. Doucet, a life-long resident of Church Point, died Tuesday evening, September 3 at her residence. Fr. Garrett Savoie, her grandson, will be the celebrant of the Mass and Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will Concelebrate with Entombment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Rogers Doucet of Church Point; her daughters, Melissa "Missie" Savoie and husband Brian of Mire, LA and Melanie Ann LaVergne and husband Jake and Pam Benoit and husband Pajoe-all of Church Point; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Glenn Dale Wilks and wife Cindy of Opelousas, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Nolton "Parain" Wilks and Rena Mary Thibodeaux Wilks and a brother, Cedric Wilks.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, September 5 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until time of the Services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Thursday by family and friends. Pallbearers will be Brian and Brodie Savoie, Jake Lavergne, Pajoe Benoit and Gavin and Timothy Benoit; Alex Benoit will be an honorary pallbearer. Offertory Gifts will be brought by Meghan Venable, Olivia Benoit and Kelli Thibodeaux. The Lector will be Jeanie Thibodeaux.

Mrs. Doucet was a family-oriented and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home.
