Church Point, LA: Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA for Mrs. Betty Ann Sonnier Sparks, 75, who passed away at 2:15 PM on Tuesday, January 16 at her residence.
Fr. Jared Suire will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place at a later date in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery adjacent to the church in Church Point.
Betty, a resident of Washington, was the daughter of the late John L. Sonnier and the former Marie Isabelle Thibodeaux.
She is survived by two sons, James Kevin Joubert and wife Geri of Peyton, CO and Brian Matthew Joubert of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren, Kali, Gabrielle, Jean-Luc, Grace and Simone Joubert and three sisters, Clara S. Darbonne of Washington, LA, Sister Ethel Sonnier of Ft. Smith, AR and Marie Sonnier of Opelousas, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steward Sparks; one daughter, Donna Marie Joubert; three sisters, Rose S. Williams, Leora S. Oakley and Mattie Dorothy Sonnier and two brothers, Joseph Allen Sonnier and Joseph Wilbur Sonnier.
