Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. John Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Bernella D. Thibodeaux,77, the former Bernella Doucet. Mrs. Thibodeaux, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Friday afternoon, July 22 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Father Garrett Savoie will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the chapel.
Survivors include a son, Kent Thibodeaux and wife Vickie of Church Point; two daughters, Donna Chachere and husband Guy and Jean Claire Thibodeaux and companion Bill Bennett-all of Church Point; a brother, Rogers Doucet and wife Betty of Church Point; a sister, Janell Doucet and Claude Meaux of Church Point; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander Thibodeaux; her parents, Edwin and Armenia Bourque Doucet and seven siblings.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 24 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. by Dexter Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Derrick, Spencer and Seth Thibodeaux and Jasper, Eddie and Deven Bearb.
Mrs. Thibodeaux managed the Dairy Pride for many years and was Plant Manager at Garan, Inc. of Church Point for some thirty years.
