Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. for Bernadine Doucet,71, the former Bernadine Janise. Mrs. Doucet, a native of Church Point, La. and long-time resident of Lawtell, died at 11:30 A.M. Monday, February 3 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Bridget Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosa Mae Fontenot and husband Bill of Lawtell; five sisters: Yvonne Mayeaux of Lawtell, Mary Lee Kolder, Violet Roberie and Dorothy "Dot" Olivier-all of Church Point-and Myrtle "Sue" Schmit of Opelousas and two grandchildren, Joseph Lane Fontenot and Cheyenne Leigh Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy J. Doucet, Sr.; her parents, Percy and Rose Faul Janise and three brothers, Murray Janise, Sr., Donald James Janise and Percy Janise, Jr.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 P.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 2:30 P.M. by Father Leger.
