Church Point, LA Barry Daigle, 79, of Winnie, Texas passed away at 10:10 pm March 25, 2017. He was born on November 12, 1937 in Church Point, La to Floyd and Eugenie Daigle.
He moved to Winnie in 1962 where he worked for nearly 20 years for Independent Refinery. He enjoyed helping his community and participated in fund raisers with the Knights of Columbus, the fire department, his church, and community people in need. He was president of The Texas Rice Festival for their 25th year. Barry was a creative cook, an avid fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors and had a natural gift of humor.
He is survived by his wife Jenny, his son Brad and his wife Elana, his son Dexter and his wife Tracy, his daughter Jina, brother Kent Daigle and his wife Jynelle from Winnie, his brother Rod and his wife Sandi, sister Diana Daigle and her husband Moise both from Church Point, six grand children and four great grand children and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor and his father and mother.
A Celebration of Life Service with a Mass took place on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St Louis Catholic Church in Winnie, Texas. Visitation in Church Point, LA will be held at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 30, at 2:00 pm in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, Louisiana.
