Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, LA for Barbara Johnson, 78, the former Barbara Ann Hebert. Mrs. Johnson, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, LA, passed away Tuesday, August 3 at Southwind Nursing Center in Crowley, LA. Monsignor Russell Harrington, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum adjacent to the church.

She is survived by her husband, Henry J. Johnson of Church Point; a son, Jeffrey Kulick of Church Point; four daughters: Connie K. Baker and husband Paul and Lisa G. Comeaux and husband Todd-all of Church Point, Laura K. Lejeune and husband Marty of Three Mile Lake, Port Barre, LA and Jade J. Stutes and husband Chris of Crowley; a sister, Linda Harmon and husband Shuler of Battle Creek, MI; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Treville and Pearly Thibodeaux Hebert; two grandsons, Ren Romero and Chase Joel Richard; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Ora Latiolais Johnson and Lawrence and Ethel Johnson, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Martha Carriere, Monique R. Bush and Brandie King will recite the readings at the mass. A devout, hard-working woman who loved her family, Mrs. Johnson was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
