Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Barbara B. Guidry, 87, the former Barbara Elizabeth Briscoe. Mrs. Guidry, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Sunday afternoon, January 21 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Pere David Rozas will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church. Survivors include her husband, Charles Ray Guidry of Church Point; two sons, Jerry Guidry and wife Kristen of Broussard, LA and Andy Guidry and wife Marleen of Church Point; six grandchildren: Dana and husband Ben Domingue, Canean and wife Heather Guidry, Kristian and husband Kevin Luquette, Kyle and wife Jamie Guidry, Kallin Guidry and companion Brittany Olivier and Kasha and husband Ty Boudreaux and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosella Olivier Briscoe; a brother, Elton Briscoe; one granddaughter, Chasity Guidry and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Guidry. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Monday, January 22 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Monday by Deacon Bryne Winn. Pallbearers will be Ben Domingue, Kevin Luquette, Patrick Magee and Canean, Kyle and Kallin Guidry. Mrs. Guidry loved to travel with her family and friends and was involved in Missionary work in Third World countries with the Mother Teresa's Group.
