Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Barbara Elkins, 63, the former Barbara Ann Thibodeaux. Mrs. Elkins, a native of Richard, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:50 A.M. Sunday, May 15 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette; Lafayette, La. Father Brad Guillory will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery in Richard.

Survivors include her companion, Henry Clavier of Eunice, La.; a son, Raymond Thibodeaux of Mire, La.; three daughters: Monica Oyarzun and husband Patricio, Arcine Winn and husband Gabriel and Malana Vasseur and husband Brent-all of Church Point; a brother, Sherman Thibodeaux of Port Barre, La.; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Elkins, Sr.; a son, Nelson Elkins, Jr.; her parents, Rene and Arcine Matte Thibodeaux; three brothers and six sisters..

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 17 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Father Guillory.
