Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at St. Bridget Catholic Church; Lawtell, La. for Aurelien "Bill" Bearb, 85. Mr. Bearb, a native of Bristol, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 10:24 P.M. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La. Survivors include four sons: Daniel Bearb and wife Mena Joyce of Basile, La., Ronald Bearb, Sr. and wife Hazel of Church Point, Donald Bearb, Sr. and wife Joyce of Morgan City, La. and Peter A. Bearb and wife Maria of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Sue Marie Bearb of Church Point; a brother, Doris Bearb and wife Norma of Duson, La. and two sisters, Amelia Bearb and Freda Lagneaux of Duson, La. He is also survived by more than twenty-five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Richard Bearb; a grandson, Cedrick Paul Bellard and two great-grandchildren, Rocko Bearb and Cia Noel Brasseaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 22 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday by Father Picard.
Mr. Bearb was a veteran of the U.S. Army's 75th Division in WWII and a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus with membership in Council 8323.
