Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point for Augustine Comeaux, 91. Mr. Comeaux, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, November 20 at his daughter's residence in Pierre Part, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Matte Comeaux of Church Point; a daughter, Glenda C. Moll and husband Herschel of Pierre Part; a sister, Zola Mae C. Roniger of Metairie, La.; three granddaughters: Cherelyn Breaux, Deanna Moll-Landry and Patti M. Medine-all of Pierre Part-and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theoluce and Oza (Thibodeaux) Comeaux; three sisters: Aline C. Guidry, Ursula C. Doucet and Palmire C. Fontenot and a brother.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 A.M. Monday until the time of the services with a recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 P.M. by Monsignor DeBlanc.
Mr. Comeaux retired in 1972 after a career with Freeport Sulphur Co. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, he will be honored with a flag Presentation Ceremony by the Honor Guard of VFW Post 9903, Church Point.
