Church Point, La.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church; Opelousas, La. for Arthur Savoie, 62. Mr. Savoie died at 4:15 A.M. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Lafayette General Hospital; Lafayette, La. He was a native of Church Point and a resident of Opelousas, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services with interment following in Bellevue Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Joyce Gaylor Savoie of Opelousas; a son, Cameron Savoie of Opelousas and a sister, Wilda Savoie of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge Savoie and Hilda Labbe Savoie and four brothers: Sam, Gilven, Bernard and Michael Savoie.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday and continue from 9:00 AM until the time of the services on Saturday.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Friday.
Mr. Savoie was the owner/operator of Savoie's Upholstery and served the Opelousas area since 1965.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations.
