The family of Archie Maurice Bellard is happy to announce his peaceful passing on to his heavenly reward at 2:23 pm on February 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Archie was born to Maurice Irom Bellard and Aline Olivier Bellard on March 11, 1934.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Margaret Doucet Bellard; his two sons, Scott (Polly) and Tyler (Desi) Bellard; his 10 grandsons: Broc, Blake, Nick Olivier, Brandon, Brett, Brody, Braxton, Brevan, Beau, and Branson; 4 great-grandchildren, Beckett, Bexley, and Eliana Bren Bellard and Elijah Allemond; his brothers, Jerry, Randy, Dale, Danny and Albert and his sisters, Theresa Plattsmier, Elizabeth Guillory and Madeline Bellard. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Wanda Guilbeau, Jean Turnley and Dovie Higginbotham and 1 brother, Jimmie Bellard.

Archie served in the Korean Conflict in the US Navy on USS LST 819, USS Taylor and USS Whitehurst. After that, he worked many years in the oil and gas industry then drove his own truck delivering loads all over the US. He was a true family man and compassionate servant of God. He lived for serving others, was a faithful member of the men's guild at the Carmelite Monastery in Lafayette where he corresponded and prayed with the Carmelite nuns for many years and did Sacred Heart home enthronements for many years. His greatest passion was caring for his family and raising his boys and grandsons to be servants of Christ, also. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
