Church Point, LA:          A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. Antoine "J.U." Cary, 78, who passed away at 1:20 PM Sunday, November 4 at Opelousas General Medical Center. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point at a later date .
Mr. Cary, a resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Richard Cary and the former Edna Darbonne. He worked at Richard's Sausage of Church Point for 35 years and was an honorary member of the Saddle Tramp Club in Church Point. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a great friend to those that knew him. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Theresa "Teasie" Cary of Church Point; two daughters, Jackie Cary of Church Point and Caron Nunez and husband Joe of Church Point; one son, Anthony "Bubba" Cary and wife Donna of Carencro, LA; nine grandchildren, Abby Murphy and husband Jeremy, Kristina Lavergne and husband Cory, Michael Kidder and wife Angel, Jared Meaux and wife Kendria, Matt Kidder, Jolie Cary, Bailey Cary, Andre Nunez and Chadon Boudreaux; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virgie Courville and husband Eric of Church Point and Nelma Daigle of Plaquemine, LA and one brother, Murray Cary. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Antoinette Kidder; one grandson, Nicholas Kidder and three brothers, Wilbert Cary, J.C. Cary and Gervais Cary.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6 and continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
