Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Annie Mae D. Taylor, 97, the former Annie Mae Doucet. Mrs. Taylor, a native of Church Point and long-time resident of Lafayette, LA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 23 at Oschner Lafayette General Medical Center. Very Reverend Charles J. Benoit O.S.B., V.F. will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Taylor of Winter Haven, FL and Gregory D. Taylor of Houston, TX; a daughter, Brenda G. Sylvest of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren: Thomas Taylor of Jamestown, TN, Ryan Tinney of Lafayette and Matthew Tinney of Albuquerque; her great-grandchildren: Dalton Taylor and Mason, Kennedi, Orchid and Coral Tinney and her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Onezime and Dolesca LeJeune Doucet; her siblings and a grandchild, Damon Taylor. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:30 AM Saturday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 11:00 AM by Deacon Bryne Winn. An employee and Manager with Western Union Telegraph Company for some 38 years, Mrs. Taylor was loved and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
