Church Point, LA:       A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Anne Burleigh, 96, who passed away at 10:20 PM Thursday, September 2 at her residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35.
Anne, a resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Arville Richard and the former Adelina Meche. A very devoted Christian; she enjoyed praying for those that she visited in the hospital and nursing home, never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary B. Jagneaux of Church Point and Adelina "Adele" Burleigh and companion Merlin McBride of Church Point; eight grandchildren: Angel Carrell and husband Travis, Brett Menard and husband Dwight, Wes Lejeune and wife Liz, Tabitha Richey and husband Josh, Larry Guidry, Misty Fontenot and husband Kory, Scott Burleigh and wife Melissa and Nicole Jack; twenty great-grandchildren: Mara, David Michael, Macullen, Alisia, Shanna, Cheyenne, Richie, Cody, Ethan, Lillian, Megan, Austin, Hudson, Natalya, Kara, Randelle, Payton, Brock, Matthew and Melody; three great-great-grandchildren, Carter, Aubree and Keagan and one brother, Cifroyen "C.J." Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Burleigh, Sr.; three daughters, Nellie Olivier, Lucy Guidry and Betty Lejeune; two sons, Edward Burleigh, Jr. and Jerry Burleigh; six sisters, Azille, Anna Mae, Adolie, Mary, Josephine and Agnes; three brothers, John Dermas, Louis and Alphonse; her son-in-law, Charles Parsons and a grandchild, Sonia Dwyer. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral services.
