Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, La. for Anna Mae Lavergne, 73, the former Anna Mae Richard. Mrs. Lavergne, a native of Richie, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 5:55 P.M. Wednesday, January 15 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Father Arthur Warren will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Daigle and husband Gary of Church Point; Vicky Lejeune and husband Learlin ("Nuquie") and Debra Babineaux-all of Richard; two brothers, Albert Richard and wife Patsy of Roosevelt, Utah and Rodney Richard and wife Ann of Richard; four sisters, Lois Pelas of Richard and Beatrice Frelich and husband Vincent and Patricia Boudreaux and husband Carroll-all of Belle Chasse, La. and Liz Twiner and husband Joseph of Houma, La.; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leopold Lavergne; her parents, Ira and Iris Mire Richard; a son-in-law, John Babineaux and a sister, Audrey Richard Quebodeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, January 17 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 on Friday by her son-in-law, "Nuquie".
