Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Angella "Pun" Cannon, 55, the former Angella Marie Labbie. Mrs. Cannon, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, passed away Friday morning, November 27 at her residence. Reverend Mitchell Guidry, friend of the family, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church in Richard LA.
She is survived by her husband, "Junior" Cannon of Church Point; her mother, Grace Jagneaux Labbie of Church Point; her brother, Chad Labbie and wife Danielle of Sunset, LA; her adopted sister, Paula Hyams of Lafayette, LA; her niece Caitlyn "LoveBug" Labbie of Sunset; two step-daughters, Devin Richard and husband John and Baylee Cannon and fiancé Dustin Silvas-all of Elton, LA; five step-grandchildren: Riklynn, Camden and Aylinn Richard and Carmine and Violet Silvas and three God Children, Karla Meche and Shelby and Declan Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Labbie. A teacher in both private and public schools for over 20 years, Mrs. Cannon was greatly involved with the CYO youth group. The family would like to thank Dr. Donald, Dr. Brierre and Dr. Eric Buller; her husband "Junior", who she considered her guidance, her star and her sunshine; her mother, who was her world and her everything; Caitlyn, her "LoveBug"; Chad, her "Everything Little Brother"; her sister-in-law Danielle, who was her best friend and "right hand"; Laura Barousse and Paula Hyams, who she considered her sisters; Steven and Amanda Meche, Lisa and Troy Lavergne and all who assisted with the Labbie and Cannon families. Visitation will be Sunday, November 29 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday evening by Rev. Guidry. Pallbearers will be Clint, Troy and Brandon Matte; Ryan and Troy Lavergne and John Richard. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
