Alton Bergeron, Jr.'s Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Alton Bergeron, Jr., 83, who passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:48 pm at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home.
Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass.
Readers will be Alyssa Daigle and Alexis Bartlet. Eucharistic Ministers will be Doug and Becky Wimberly.
Entombment will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery - Hwy 35 in the mausoleum.
Mr. Bergeron, a resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Alton Bergeron, Sr. and the former Claudia Meche.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda Pourciau and husband George of Church Point, LA; his grandchildren Jerrod Daigle and wife Carla, Hugh Daigle and wife Adrienne, Cullen Daigle and wife Simone all of Church Point, LA, Nicole Wimberly and husband Bill of Branch, LA, Al Bergeron and wife Katie of Scott, LA; a brother Rodney Bergeron and wife Sis of Sunset, LA; and a sister Faye Hebert of Arnaudville, LA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Labbie Bergeron; a son, Wayne Bergeron; his parents, Alton Bergeron, Sr. and Claudia Meche Bergeron; three brothers, Harold, Paul and Percy Bergeron; and a sister, Devergne Verret.
Alton was a loving father, grandfather and husband. His greatest passion in life was his family
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on, Friday, August 29, 2014 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Friday evening at 7:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Daigle, Cullen Daigle, Al Bergeron, Robbie Labbie, Terry Brown and Kenny Labbie.

Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements. The funeral will directed by two of his grandsons, Jerrod Daigle and Bill Wimberly.
