Obituary

Church Point, LA Funeral services for Alden Eugene 'Piccolo' Thibodeaux will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 21 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday May 22 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 PM. Entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point immediately following services.
Mr. Thibodeaux, a native and lifelong resident of rural St Landry Parish near Lewisburg, La., died Tuesday morning May 16 at Courtyard Manor Assisted Living.
Survivors include 6 children & spouses: Gregory Thibodeaux & wife Judy Bourgeois, Michael Thibodeaux & wife Terry Chaumont, Deacon Gerard 'Stick' Thibodeaux & Lisa Monteverde, Sue Ellen Tribe, Penny Landgrave & David and Kathy Bellard & Barney; eighteen grandchildren and spouses: Mike & Amy Thibodeaux, Chris Thibodeaux & Deidre Johnson, Jamie & Chad Matte, Melanie & Patrick Mickal, Matthew Thibodeaux, Bryan Tribe, Keigh Thibodeaux, Bryce and Tiffany Tribe, Brandi Tribe, Emily & Davide Iannello, Eric & Shellie Bellard, Cielle & Griffen Fulmer, Sara & Joe Gauntt, Adam & Elly Bellard, Kristen & Austin Neal, Alex & Addison Bellard, Andy Bellard, Katherine & Martin Thomas; 22 great grandchildren: Rachel, Kyra and Ethan Thibodeaux; Shelby, Ashley & Natalie Matte; Winston, William & Andrew Mickal; Adelyn & Micah Fulmer; Luke Neal; Treavor, Izabella, Sadie, Mollie Sue & Josie Rae Tribe; Rhianna, Ginny, Gabriella & Joseph Iannello; Kyan Simon; a brother, Jack Gervais Thibodeaux & wife Nettie Veillon and a sister-in-law, Velma Soileau Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his wife Isabelle Wimberly Thibodeaux; his parents, Thomas Theodule Thibodeaux & Alice Richard Thibodeaux; his son-in-law, Charles Ray Tribe; 7 Brothers and 4 Sisters. Alden was an active member of the community. A US Army Veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater, he was a member of the American Legion, Charter Member of the VFW Post and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A retired Rural Carrier, he was a former board member of the Sweet Potato Co-op of Lewisburg, a member of the Lewisburg Bellevue Water District, a former Justice of the Peace and a farmer all his adult life. In his later years, he and his son had a vegetable truck farm. Alden loved playing Dominoes and cards. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N.
