Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Alberta Bourque, 77, the former Mary Alberta Richard. Mrs. Bourque, a native and long-time resident of Lewisburg, LA, died Tuesday morning, July 25 at The Carpenter House Hospice in Lafayette, LA. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the Chapel in Lewisburg, LA. Survivors include a niece and caregiver (a Godchild who was more like a daughter), Jeanna Dupree and husband Clayton of Rayne, LA; her grandchildren, Jarred, Mandi and Dana Dupree; seven great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews: Janet and Steve Hamlett of Sunset, LA; Carla and Clifford Graham of Lawtell, LA; Marilynn and Ed Sangurima of Wittmann, AZ; Kevin and Leeanna Prejean of Lumberton, TX; Elvin and Nancy Prejean of Abbeville, LA and Bunny and Skip Dollar of Sunset; a sister, Verline Prejean of Sunset; a sister-in-law, Wilda Bourque of Lewisburg and a brother-in-law, Ray Bourque of Opelousas, LA . She was preceded in death by her p arents, Jacques and Aline Comeaux Richard; her husband, J.B. Bourque and her brothers, Newman, J.U. and Terry Richard . The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. Pallbearers will be Keith Greene, Bobby Hunt and friends and family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Our Lady of the Oaks staff and facility and a very special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House, her sisters, her dear extended family and Tina Hunt who cared for her as well.
