Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2010 at Guidry Funeral Home, Church Point for Mrs. Alberetta "Sally" Lafosse, 87, the former Alberetta Mae Purgahn. Mrs. Lafosse, a native of Pitreville, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 18 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Reverend Rob Clark will conduct the services with interment following in the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Church Point.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas "Tommy" Joseph Lafosse, Jr. and wife Yvonne of Houston, Tex. and Michael H. Lafosse and wife Barbara of Church Point; two daughters, Cynthia L. Bertrand and husband Newton of Lake Charles, La. and Stephanie Savoie and husband Raymond of Livonia, La.; ten grandchildren: Thomas Joseph Lafosse III, Michelle Fontenot, Nicole Trahan, Wayne, Jared and Koury "Smokey" Lafosse, Angelle and John Savoie, Heather Jarreau and Alison Hebert and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Lafosse, Sr. and her parents, Charles William and Mathilde Lafleur Purgahn.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, May 20 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.
A self-employed beautician, Mrs. Lafosse was also co-owner and operator of the popular "Tommy's Drive-In" for many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASLGH-Resident Activity Fund (PAC); 830 S. Broadway, Church Point, La. 70525.
