Obituary

Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Alba Hale, the former Alba Rachelle Romano. Mrs. Hale, born on November 7, 1937 in Sezza, Province of Udine, Italy and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 4:15 P.M. Thursday, January 8 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Father Tom Voorhies will conduct the services.

She is survived by Catherine Jeanis and husband Bedford of Church Point, who were always ready to bring her comfort along with Natasha, Sumer, and Michelle her granddaughters and traveling partners; Barbara Hayes and husband David of Flowery Branch, Ga. who, along with Ashley, Lydia and Elijah, provided and cared for her during her battles with cancer (a four-time survivor); Morgan, of Church Point, who assumed the role of "man of the house"; Johnny and wife "Sissy" of Flowery Branch, who along with Alais and Victor, were taught lessons of Godliness; Tim Hale and wife Nancy of Scott, La. who, along with Ian, Evan and Ivan, traveled the country and learned to love hockey with her; Mark Hale who, with Noah and Liam of Church Point, helped her maintain her youth with close guidance. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Olivia, Oliver, Aiden, Lola and Graham; a brother, Phillip Romano of Brittany, France and many relatives in Europe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Hale, USAF RET.; her parents, Olivo and Catherine Fumme Romano and a sister, Lydia Antemi.

After growing up during WWII; she met William in Paris, married and moved to the United States. Three of her children were born in Europe and three more here. William passed in 1974 and she raised her children with love and compassion based on her religious upbringing. She was loved by all and appreciated by those she always welcomed into her home. The family requests that None' not be forgotten and, in the words of Shakespeare in All's Well That Ends Well , "Love all, trust a few and do wrong to none!"

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services with additional visitation from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. by Deacon Byrne Winn.
